The Tale of the October Beard

Long ago in a little college town called Cedar City Utah, there was a girl dating a boy. The boy wanted to marry the girl. The girl was uncertain and not sure what to do. After some thought, she decided to give the boy 3 tasks he must agree to before she could marry him.

The first task she asked of him was that he would be willing to rub her feet and back every single night before they went to bed. The boy happily agreed.

The second task was that he would be able to take her to the temple & she would be able to stay home and raise whatever children they had. Again the boy agreed.

The third and most important task that she gave him was that every October he would spend the whole month growing a beard. This task seemed impossible for the boy. "I can't" he cried "it's too itchy!" The girl insisted knowing it was the only way she could be sure that his love for her was real. Determined to give the girl every thing she desired, the boy finally agreed. They were married soon after.

Each October 1st, the boy, who is not such a boy anymore, begins to grow his itchy beard. The girl is happy because she knows he loves her and will do anything she asks of him. They are living happily ever after...
