I really want to be a person who doesn't get caught up in the "things" of life. That is to say, I don't want myself and family to base our identity, self worth, and who we want to be, on what possessions we have or hope to have. However, letting go of "things" can be much harder than one would expect. For example, here are some pictures of the little ones broken hearted as
we sold our jeep yesterday.

I think it's hard for children to understand why grownups do the things they do. Both Brent and I felt very good about our decision to sell the jeep. As much as it broke the hearts of the girls, I'm confident that by doing so brings us closer to our long term goals. In perspective, it was a small sacrifice for a better future.
We've had a hard couple of weeks but the blessings we've received have by far outweighed the challenges. I'm grateful for life and all of its experiences. We are still happy, healthy, and very much enjoying all that life gives us. After all, it's how we choose to think about life that determines what kind of happiness we create. I choose to focus on what we have and not what we lack. We are truly blessed even if we drive a Buick and not a fun jeep!

Their faces are so sweet!
Their faces say it all. I am glad you have such a positive attitude. I know it sure humbled us when the economy downsized our paycheck. Makes you appreciate so much more what you have and you realize you are happy and content. Maybe you can buy your girls a couple of matchbox jeep cars so they have a memento of sorts! :)
hey Mandy,
We have also felt the effects. We actually just sold our home. . we feel really good about it, but it's been hard to say goodbyes to friends in the ward we so love. Things like this do really make life simply sweeter. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. And we do need to get together again soon. We are actually moving this Sat. and then we will be renting not to far from here, so we''l call when we are settled and have you over.

Hey mandy,
Thank you. We are actually across the street from Loch Lamond (north). My kids are going to Amber (Delgrosso) Doxy's on Saturday, but Matthew may need some strong arms for lifting. Maybe have your hubby call him 801-885-9920. Thank you for your offer.

That is so sad. I cried watching through the window of my living room when we had to sell my car a few years ago. It can be very sad to let go of things that hold fun memories.
That is about the saddest faces I've ever seen. You are cute Mandy, those girls have a good mom.
